Camp Disney

Prologue

In the Summer, it is very common for people to watch Disney movies on family movie night. So, in an alternative universe where the characters in movies are real people, then said characters will have to spend all Summer at the filming studios. So what happens to their kids?

They go to Camp Disney.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the bus passed the sign for Camp Disney. Mali, daughter of Mulan, adjusted her sword on her belt. It was very uncomfortable to sit on the stiff bus seats when one had a sword attached to their waist.  And Margret, daughter of Hercules and Megara, and Mali’s new best friend was having double the trouble, because not only did she have a sword on her waist, but Margret had a shield strapped to her back too.

The two girls had met on that very same bus ride to camp. They had happened to be sitting next to each other, and a conversation had struck up when Mali had complained about being separated from her parents for yet another summer. Margret had agreed, and then the two girls started a conversation about how unfair it was that Melody, daughter of Arielle, didn’t have to go to Camp Disney because there was a movie about her. Soon the conversation had turned to hobbies, and Mali and Margret realized how much they had in common. Both were pretty girls who had very good fighting skills. Both loved horseback riding (or Pegasus riding in Margret’s case) and both hated being separated from their parents.

Soon the bus stopped at Camp Disney. There were lots of different cabins for different activities. There was an armory (for the more warrior type kids) and a magic class cabin, a stable full of horses, Pegasus’s, and unicorns, art class cabin… Mali and Margret both had to admit that they were excited. They were put in a bunk house with Abby daughter of Alice in Wonderland, Benny son of Cinderella, his brother, James, and Harry, son of Belle and the Beast. They had all just finished unpacking, and had started to get to know each other a little better, when suddenly, the voices of the Fairy Godmother’s daughter Jennifer,  rang through the speaker system: “All campers are to report to the assembly cabin immediately!”

Soon, all of the camper’s were standing in the assembly cabin. Jennifer and the other three head counselors, Fawn, Fleur, and Joy, daughters of Fauna, Flora, and Merryweather, the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty, were standing on a small platform at the front of the room. The four counselors looked very anxious. “I wonder what’s wrong?” whispered Margret to Mali.

“Attention campers!” called Jennifer. “We have some very, very bad knews to tell you!” All the campers listened fearfully, scared of what they would here next. “Yes.” Continued Fawn. “Something terrible has happened to your parents.” She glanced around the room. “All of them.” Shellie, daughter of Snow White, sank into a faint, and was brought to the infirmary. “Now, it is important that we don’t panic, and stay calm.” Added Fleur. “Fleur, let’s not exaggerate.” Said Joy. “Their parent’s situation isn’t as bad as it seems. They are only in mortal danger.” Another three girls fainted and were rushed to the infirmary. “What happened?” a girl shouted. “Its quite a tragedy.” Said Jennifer. “I feel so sorry for you all.” Said Fawn. “WHAT HAPPENED?!” yelled Mali. “It’s very sad.” Said Fleur with tears in her eyes. “Back at the filming studios,” said Joy. “All of your parent’s had to go to the bathroom at once…” she paused to blow her nose. “And they all got stuck in the bathroom!” the four fairies wailed. “ALL of them?” asked Abby. “Well yes.” Said Fleur. “Except for Hercules, but he is distracted in admiring himself in the mirror, and he’s not answering his phone.” “Dad!” moaned Margret. “Wait, so what happened?” asked Benny, confused. “Did The Evil Queen try and attack them or something?” The four fairies looked equally confused. “Child, why do you wish evil things to befall upon your parents?” asked Fawn angrily. “Indeed, that was a horrible thing to say!” said Joy. “IS THIS SOME KIND OF JOKE?” yelled Mali. “YOU SUMMONED US HERE BECAUSE OUR PARENTS GOT STUCK IN THE BATHROOM?” “Why yes.” Said Jennifer. “And now.” Said Joy. “You must all go back to the studio and rescue your parents.” “BUT WE JUST GOT TO CAMP!” Mali yelled. “If I my give a suggestion?” proposed Margret. “Yes, what is it Dear?” asked Fleur. “May I use your phone please?” Margret asked Joy. Joy handed her the phone without a word. “I’ll just be a minute.” Said Margret, and she stepped out of the cabin. A few minutes later, everyone could hear her screaming. “DAD! EVERYONE IS STUCK IN THE BATHROOM AND YOU’RE SITTING THERE IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR? GO HELP THEM!” A second later: “DOGS CAN’T OPEN DOORS DAD, IT DOESN’T MATTER IF LADY AND TRAMP AREN’T STUCK!” and then: “THE FAIRY GODMOTHER CAN’T DO IT BECAUSE SHE’S STUCK IN THE BATHROOM WITH EVERYONE ELSE!” after another minute: “JUST OPEN THE DOOR DAD!” Finally, Margret came back into the cabin. “Problem solved.” She said sweetly, as if nothing had just happened. And so everyone had a great summer at camp, and everyone was careful not to make Margret mad.
